ODAYIL NINNU

‘Odayil Ninnu’ is a charming novel, composed by a renowned writer and excellent novelist P. Keshavadev. He is a distinguished personality among the Malayalam novelists, because his works and compositions possess a unique rhythm, in which a cold breeze of literary explosion blows slowly. He led may labour movements in Kerala. So, his compositions own an extreme emotion and intensive feeling of labourer’s freedom.

 The novel ‘Odayil Ninnu’ is the only one book, which reflected and marked the manhood of common people, especially workers. In a one sight, it didn’t contain unnatural or artificial story. But, if is a story, in which ‘Dev’ try to explain the sweating of labourers and their miseries and troubles the main character of this story ‘pappu’, acts as a hero, who burns and flames in front of any person. He dislikes to surrender or bow before anyone.

This story begins with a bravery of expression of pappu, against the injustice of his teacher, who beats all children except son of landlord. This event burns the mind of pappu and he gathers his friends to protest these complaint activities. This feeling of impudence ignites throughout the street.

              Pappu was rikshaw-driver. He finds his daily-food by this carriage in an unexpected way, his rickshaw collides a girl named Lakshmi. Then she fell in to a drain. Her cover, including rice and chillies loses completely pappu fells in to empathy to Lakshmi. He helps her and buys for herself the losted things by that time, he lives for her poor situation, and he lives for her. he dreams to hand her from the drain” to prosperity of life.

Finally, the two hearts stick firmly he can’t live without her and she can’t live without him. but the sever cough troubles him, which was suffered by his continuous hardworking. His cough reverberates throughout the street AND SO ON…………
